My research focuses on the social psychological aspects of group processes and intergroup relations. I study the motivational underpinnings and implications of social identity processes, in particular for individuals who are devalued or stereotyped. One topic of ongoing research is gender (in)equality in academia.
I received my Master’s degree (cum laude) in Social Psychology (2007) from VU University Amsterdam. I completed my PhD in Social and Organisational Psychology at Leiden University (2013). I am currently an assistant professor at the Department of Organization Sciences, VU University Amsterdam.
